Where is Bandung? This is taken from http://wikitravel.org/en/Bandung#b
Bandung [1] is the capital city of West Java, and the third largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta and Surabaya. Nicknamed Parijs van Java (Paris of Java) by the Dutch for its resemblance to Paris and European atmosphere back at the colonial times. Bandung also earned another nickname as Kota Kembang, literally meaning the Flower City since Bandung used to have a lot of flowers.
Located at the altitude of 768 m with the surroundings of lush and beautiful Parahyangan mountains makes the climate mild and pleasant. The city has been well known for the universities, apparel products and a great place for gastronomic adventure. Nowadays, Bandung has become a very popular weekend escape for Jakartans, who would crowd the city on weekends and national holidays.
Yes, its tru, when we arrived on Saturday evening, about 830 local time, roads around Bandung is quite pack with people coming from Jakarta. How de we know? Aha ..the Vehicle registrations numbers bearing with letter B denotes the vehilcle is registered at Jakarta, so...the drivers and the people is very sure from Jakarta. Whereas, local vehicle is registered with letters denote D.
Not much things to do, and we have a quick latte dinner at Cabe Rawit restaurant nearby the area. Cabe rawit litterally means chili and rawit is a small and hot chili, other words for cabe is cili, or cabai, or lada or lombok. In my kampun, we call it lombok rawit, or some people call it cabai burung, in anyway, its very hot!... Best siut makan cili ni ,,espciallly kalau dapat cecah dengan kicap dan bawang besar!.
